You don’t need years of experience with Passwerk to be convinced of our impact. CM, one of Belgium’s largest health insurance funds, started working with two Passwerk consultants earlier this year, and the results speak for themselves. Rebecca Debaillie, ICT Director at CM, shares her experience with this promising partnership.
Why Passwerk?
In IT, we’re always looking for profiles that are precise and analytically strong. From our very first meeting, it was clear that Passwerk could offer precisely that. What’s more, their consultants align perfectly with CM’s values: solidarity, inclusion and respect.
How has the collaboration with Passwerk been so far?
The partnership has been seamless. Communication is transparent and professional, and expectations are clearly defined. There’s always room for dialogue, and the consultants actively contribute ideas and help find solutions.
We’re very satisfied with the accuracy and speed of their work: they noticeably relieve the rest of the team.
What do our consultants do at CM, and how do they add value?
Currently, two consultants work with us, mainly on testing and quality control. Maurijn manages a significant portion of the regression testing and excels at it, which allows the team to concentrate on other tasks. Jakob is in charge of automated testing. We are very pleased with the accuracy and speed of their work: they significantly ease the workload for the rest of the team.
Initially, it took some time to find a good flow, as they were somewhat timid. But now they feel more comfortable. Thanks to regular meetings between the test lead and the job coaches, everything continues to run smoothly.
How do you experience our job coaching model, and what lessons have you learned from their expertise?
Passwerk’s job coaching model provides great value thanks to the combination of technical guidance and personal support. This approach reduces barriers, helping consultants settle in faster and deliver quality work from the start. The job coaches are approachable, knowledgeable, and ensure smooth communication. They genuinely serve as a bridge between CM and Passwerk, strengthening collaboration and encouraging team spirit.
We were pleasantly surprised by how quickly the consultants got up to speed and familiarised themselves with CM’s context.
Were there any positive surprises in the collaboration or the consultants’ capabilities?
As mentioned earlier, they work very accurately and efficiently. We were also pleasantly surprised by how quickly they adapted and familiarised themselves with CM’s context. Moreover, they truly strive to be part of the team, which we greatly appreciate.
How does this collaboration fit into your broader vision on inclusion and diversity?
Diversity in general contributes to the growth and foundation of an organisation. At CM, we want to include people who are different, both within our organisation and in society. Neurodiversity is a significant asset, also for CM. People with a neurodivergent mind have specific skills, and we must give them opportunities and include them in both society and the business world. Their presence reminds us that a team can reflect society and that everyone, in their way, contributes value.
This collaboration is a real eye-opener: everyone is a vital part. When you invest in creating an inclusive workplace as an organisation, it also influences how employees view society.
Does the presence of our consultant with autism also contribute on a human level?
The answer is a definite yes, also for our employees. This collaboration is a real eye-opener: everyone is a vital part. When you invest in creating an inclusive workplace as an organisation, it also influences how employees view society. When working professionally with all kinds of people, you’re less likely to view labels as stigmatising. It creates a ripple effect that is felt both inside and outside the organisation. Additionally, it sends a powerful message to parents of neurodivergent children, which we as an organisation fully endorse: with the proper support, anything is possible.
What would you say to an organisation that’s hesitant to work with Passwerk?
You really shouldn’t hesitate. Although it seems logical, we initially noticed there was still a barrier we had to overcome. But looking at how things have progressed for us, we can only remain positive. I am very satisfied with my team. The speed at which the consultants integrated, embraced CM’s DNA, and genuinely became part of the group amazed me. It does require some effort from the company itself, but that effort is far outweighed by the benefits. In our team, a small push was needed to set the collaboration in motion, but in the end, you can only be positively surprised.
